Tracie Leigh Washington, Esq., Ph.D., is a visionary civil rights attorney, influential public policy strategist, and passionate advocate whose leadership has been instrumental in advancing social justice, equity, and systemic reform across the nation. A proud daughter of New Orleans, LA, Tracie’s exceptional academic journey encompasses degrees from Carleton College (B.A., Political Science), Drake University (MPA), the University of Texas School of Law (JD), the University of New Orleans (MBA), and Southern University and A&M College (Ph.D., Public Policy) – reflecting her relentless pursuit of knowledge, strategic thought and public service excellence. 


Isabel Wittmaack, MSN, AGACNP-BC, RN-BC, CRRN
Student Director

Isabel Wittmaack, MSN, AGACNP-BC, CCRN, SRNA, is a Student Registered Nurse Anesthetist and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) student at the University at Buffalo School of Nursing. She serves as the Student Director for Region 1 on the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, where she represents nurse anesthesia students and contributes to discussions related to accreditation, educational quality, and program oversight. Her nursing background includes extensive experience in high-acuity critical care settings, as well as leadership roles as a Charge Nurse, Lead Preceptor, and clinical instructor. She has been recognized with a Preceptor of the Year award for her commitment to mentorship and nursing education. Ms. Wittmaack is actively involved in professional advocacy through the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and the New York State Association of Nurse Anesthetists. 


Kathleen Fear, DNP, ARNP, CRNA
CRNA Practitioner 

Dr. Kathleen M. Fear, DNP, MSN, CRNA, ARNP, is an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of Iowa College of Nursing and a nationally recognized nurse anesthetist. With over two decades of clinical and academic experience, she serves as Lead CRNA at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics Ambulatory Surgery Center. Dr. Fear earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice and Master’s in Nurse Anesthesia from the University of Iowa, where she has taught extensively in didactic and clinical anesthesia education. Her contributions include peer-reviewed publications, simulation-based learning innovations, and national presentations on anesthesia safety and crisis resource management. She has held leadership roles with the Iowa Board of Nursing and the NBCRNA and is the recipient of multiple teaching and professional excellence awards. Dedicated to advancing anesthesia education and practice, Dr. Fear mentors DNP students and develops mastery-based curricula to improve patient outcomes and professional competence.
